Tips for your visit to Bogotá:

To make the most of your stay, keep the following in mind:

Climate

Bogotá is located 2,640 meters above sea level, so its climate is cool to temperate year-round.

Average temperature: between 8°C and 20°C.

It’s common to experience four seasons in a single day: sun, clouds, rain, and then sun again. Rainfall is usually intermittent, especially in the afternoon.

Adjusting to the altitude

Because Bogotá is located at high altitude, some visitors may feel mild fatigue or headaches during the first few days. We suggest:

  • Drinking plenty of water.
  • Avoiding intense physical activity on your first day.
  • Eating light meals and getting enough rest.

What to wear

  • Bring a light jacket or coat.
  • Choose comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
  • For business meetings, the dress code is formal or business casual, always keeping the cool weather in mind.

Getting around

  • We recommend using private transportation, ride-hailing apps, or authorized taxis. Allow extra travel time due to peak traffic.

Currency and Payments

  • The local currency is the Colombian peso (COP).
  • Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops.
